Sommarøy is easy to misjudge from photos: the white sand and turquoise shallows read as somewhere warm, but this is a small fishing island at 69°N, roughly 55–60 km west of Tromsø — and there is exactly one road in, road 862 across Kvaløya, ending at a 522 m bridge onto the island itself.
